Monday's memorial service for fashion designer Virgil Abloh was star-studded as Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Drake, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and many more filled the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
Tyler, The Creator delivered the eulogy for the late creative. During his speech, Tyler acknowledged Virgil Abloh's ability to connect with people of all ages, backgrounds, and religions. The rapper began to fight back tears as he recalled his friend's death, revealing that he was going to send him an invite the after he passed away.
"All these different people, colors, ages, backgrounds, religions, all came for one man and that's what he did, he brought like the illest people together," Tyler said. "Like Don said even people I was like 'ugh.' But you learn he's either not that bad or he is a genius at whatever he does...The day after he passed away is when I was gonna send him an invite and I was so excited for him to see it. I was really excited for him to see that for real."
Virgil Abloh passed away on Nov. 28 from a rare cancer called cardiac angiosarcoma. He died just two years after receiving his diagnosis. Virgil was 41 years old at the time of his passing.
