According to reports, convicted murderer and former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is expected to enter a guilty plea for violating George Floyd's civil rights.

A hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday when Chauvin is expected to change his initial plea of not guilty for allegedly violating his right to “be free from unreasonable seizure” when he pressed his knee into Floyd's neck for 9 minutes.

While it's not immediately clear what prompted the plea change, it can be speculated that Chauvin's legal team struck a deal with prosecutors leading the federal case against him and the other three officers, Thomas Lane, J. Kueng, and Tou Thao.
