On Nas’ ‘King’s Disease’ album with Hit-Boy, the rapper’s song “Ultra Black” found him proclaiming his Blackness. In the song, Nas rapped, “We goin' ultra-Black, unapologetically Black / The opposite of Doja Cat, Michael Blackson Black.” The bars ultimately found the song going viral, which prompted Nas to say there’s no issue with Doja Cat. However, Doja Cat went on to say she was dropping a song called “Nas,” but then changed the title to “Ain’t S**t.” Now, Doja Cat has addressed the bars from Nas once more in a new interview.

While speaking to Rolling Stone, the artist was asked about bars from Nas. Doja Cat said, “It didn’t hurt me. It was just like, ‘Oh, this sucks. This is no good.” She elaborated, saying, “It’s just like, ‘This is a human being, a real human being with feelings.’  [I] don’t think it had anything to do with me, to be honest. I think whatever he was talking about was something that other people kind of planted into his mind. [But] if you’re able to reach that conclusion about me so confidently, there’s no point in ever talking about it. . . . I’m also very non-confrontational, and I don’t like the vibe of trying to prove myself to somebody that I don’t need to. I don’t think I really need to respond to that without humor.”
