Alas, it looks like R&B singer Omarion has truly embraced the running joke on social media that has attached his name to the new COVID variant in an unavoidable fashion. The joke started around Thanksgiving when Omicron emerged as the most dominant COVID strain in the country.
Since then, celebrities like Tory Lanez have taken a stab at making people laugh on social media by putting their own twist on the ever-growing banter. On Christmas day, actor LaKeith Stanfield joined the fray by posting a screenshot on his Instagram account of a fan that DM'd him and said that Omarion had ruined Christmas. In response the, actor wrote:
"I'm weak i wonder if he's gonna respond."
The R&B singer has yet to respond to LaKeith's wisecrack but one day before that post was made, he addressed the joke and added a few safety tips as well.
“I can’t stand y’all. Happy holidays. Sea moss up. Plant base up. Sun light up. Sending love & healing energy to all. #omicron not #Omarion.”
Since Christmas, the Omicron has played a major role in the cancellation of nearly 4,000 domestic flights by airline companies. Airline businesses like United, JetBlue, Delta, and American have all associated their inability to properly staff flights because of the coronavirus.
