According to reports, Larry Demery, one of the men convicted for the murder of Michael Jordan's father had his pending parole release pulled on Tuesday without explanation.
Demery was set to be released on Aug. 6, 2023, however, the North Carolina Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission announced on Tuesday that the parole agreement was terminated, effective immediately. Demery would have also had to complete a reentry educational program before the August release date.
While it's not immediately clear what brought about the termination, many sources close to the situation, from inside the prison itself and out, say Demery has a history of behavioral issues. Over the course of his sentence, he's received 19 citations.
Demery and his friend Daniel Andre Green were arrested in the 1993 murder. Both men were convicted and sentenced in 1996: "Demery was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery [...] Green was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in 1996 and also was sentenced to life in prison."
