In the past ten years alone, a litany of rappers have emerged from the Central Floria area to make a name for themselves. Many of them have served time in juvenile hall, jails, and the prison system.
Stories about being locked up behind bars have been told by the likes of XXXTentacion, Slump God, Hotboii, and The Island Boys to name a few. While the outside world may view these prison stints as a badge of honor worn by some of the Sunshine state's most famous rappers, Foolio recently took to Instagram Live to condemn the Jacksonville Police Department for their tactics in arresting people like fellow Floridian rapper, KSOO, stating his desire to him released.
"I don't wish jail on nobody, that's just the rule of the streets. The way Jacksonville police is set up, they're crooked. They'll do anything to keep you," Foolio said. "Just like (KSOO) situation. On my daddy grave, I just talked to (KSOO) today on a little video call. Bruh ain't even supposed to be in jail. They'll really just throw cases on you that they know you didn't have nothing to do with...but sh*t I hope that KSOO gets out soon. I don't wish that on no man, that's like fighting for your life."
KSOO and his father were arrested, in 2020, for the murder of alleged rap rival, Lilbuck. KSOO was charged with second-degree murder for his alleged part, while his father was charged with being an accessory. Although Foolio and KSOO have both been linked to the tumultuous history of gang violence in their area, they are certainly united on this front.
