A third man, Shundale Barnett, 27, has been charged with being an after-the-fact accessory to first-degree murder, which was announced by U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller at a press conference in Memphis on Wednesday (January 12).
Barnett was a passenger in the vehicle along with Justin Johnson, 23, who was on the run after being charged with the first-degree murder of Young Dolph. Authorities stopped the vehicle in Terre Haute, Indiana, Tuesday afternoon during a national manhunt for Johnson. Johnson was driving the vehicle, and he reportedly surrendered to authorities without a fight.
Miller stated during the press conference, "Shundale Barnett is a person who, we believe, was providing assistance to Justin since we’ve been looking for him."
Prosecutors in Shelby County publicly identified a second suspect, Cornelius Smith, 32, as the second alleged gunman in the shooting that led to Young Dolph's death.
More details to come.
