A case where the sexual harassment portion of her accusation was dismissed but the wrongful determination part was not. He addresses the groundbreaking social impact of the case, but maintains his stance in that he was the trailblazer for women journalists during a time where misogyny ran rampant in hip hop. Mays clarifies the reason why his magazine decided to move on from Kim as the EIC and the role her firing may have played in the lawsuit that she would go on to file against him.
Dave Mays also talks about being forced out of The Source with his former Business partner, Benzino, and the role that his investor, Black Enterprise played in his demise as the leader of the famous magazine. He also talks about his legacy and the way in which his decision-making helped shape the entire landscape of rap and hip-hop news. The music businessman shares his excitement about his latest venture in podcasting and audio journalism called "Breakbeat Media" and his belief in the way the new talent on his platform will help him blaze yet another trail in hip hop.
Lastly, Dave Mays discusses an upcoming 10-part series that he is producing that will be centered around the evolution of Larry Hoover, from a gangster to an influential figure in politics and the real reason why he is still locked up.
