According to reports, former Kansas City Chiefs player Junior Siavii was found dead while being held in Leavenworth prison.
The former NFL player was charged with three counts of illegally possessing firearms in 2019 and was being held in the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth while waiting for trial. Saousoalii “Junior” Siavii previously played for teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Chiefs but ended his time in the league in 2011.
Siavii was named in an indictment related to drug trafficking and conspiracy, and was taken into custody another time, for charges like second-degree burglary and more. Siavii was found dead in his cell on January 13 while awaiting trial. No other details were released, and it was noted that Siavii was found alone. Stay tuned for more updates.
