According to reports, Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby was indicted on federal perjury charges.

Mosby was indicted by a grand jury on four felony counts, which including making false statements along with perjury. Prosecutors in the indictment claim Mosby lied about having COVID-19 hardships so she could take money from her retirement account without any penalty. Along with that, they claim Mosby falsified loan applications for vacation homes in Florida.

While speaking to press, Mosby went on to say “Without equivocation, I am innocent on the charges levied against me. I have done nothing wrong, and I am confident that I will be exonerated and my name will be cleared.”

She continued on saying “But I wanted the people of Baltimore to hear it from me: I've done nothing wrong. I did not defraud anyone to take my money from my retirement savings and I did not lie on any mortgage application.” Mosby previously gained attention nationally after she charged officers for the in-custody death of Freddie Gray in 2015.
