Whether it's his flamboyant fashion sense or his snarky bars aimed directly at his rival Freddie Gibbs, Gunna knows exactly how to create a buzz and by all indications, it has worked wonders. It was just announced that his recently released album, DS4EVER, narrowly outsold the highly-touted album by The Weeknd and took over the top the top spot on the Billboard charts in the process.

Gunna's latest album sold 150,300 equivalent album units, while The Weeknd's Dawn FM debuted with 148,000 album-equivalent units earned in the U.S. Gunna's latest project was released by Atlantic Records as a deluxe album featuring contributions from industry tycoons like Drake, Future, and Tyler, The Creator.

What is especially unique about Gunna outselling The Weeknd is the fact that The Weeknd is currently in the midst of a streak for which his last three albums have been certified platinum while Gunna has never reached that milestone as a solo artist before.
