In this clip, Jaz-O talks about how the role of the emcee came to be in hip hop and why he left the Marcy Projects to go off to college. He also talks about why he dropped out of college and returned to Brooklyn. Upon his return to the projects that's when he met a young Jay-Z. Jaz-O details the events leading up to his epic rap battle with Jay-Z, who had just moved into the Marcy projects. After their highly anticipated battle, the two rappers hit if off and eventually started writing together.
