According to reports, a 16-year-old rapper from the Bronx is accused of shooting a police officer during a physical altercation.
Rapper C Blu is charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, among other weapons charges. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.
The altercation ensued after police were called to a scene to disperse a group of "disorderly" people. When C Blu was approached by an officer demanding he remove his hands from his pockets, C Blu refused and a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, the gun C Blu was carrying discharged and grazed the officer in the leg (not to mention going through his own leg).
“This defendant has taken to social media and appeared multiple times displaying a firearm that looks similar to the firearm he possessed in the incident,” Assistant District Attorney Joseph Maniscalco said at C Blu’s arraignment.
“My client never touched the gun,” said the rapper’s attorney Dawn Florio. “You could hear the people saying that they thought the police officer shot my client.”
C Blu remains in police custody on a $200,000 bond.
