Lil Nas X is back in the news, as the artist has reportedly been sued for a video he put out last year.
The video in question shows Lil Nas giving birth, something he previously spent time teasing and trolling on social media. The promo video was supposed to build more hype for his ‘Montero’ project. However, Nas X was called out and sued by artist Dana Dentata, who says the idea for the birth video was stolen from her.
A lawyer for Dentata—Perry C. Wander, released a statement on the matter, saying, “Lil Nas, desperate not to be a one-hit-wonder, swagger jacked my client’s music video story and stole her struggle sauce and artistic vision to avoid a sophomore slump. Dana is a genuine and authentic artist.” This came after representation for Dentata sent a cease-and-desist letter claiming copyright infringement. Stay tuned for more updates.
