Video footage of New Orleans Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes' arrest went public after the NBA player was booked and charged with felony battery on a police officer and resisting arrest last week.

The clip, which shows Hayes struggling against three LAPD officers, has led to an excessive force investigation as the 21-year-old is seen getting tased as force is applied on his neck. The clip ends as backup arrives and the person filming the incident is approached by an officer.

LAPD Chief Michael Moore revealed that the department was investigating the arrest due to the force that was applied to Hayes' neck and caused him to struggle to breathe. Cops on the scene claim the clip only starts when they were arresting Hayes and doesn't show the former number eight draft pick causing the physical altercation. Police claim Hayes shoved and injured an officer after ignoring their commands, adding that there's bodycam footage to support their claims.

As a result of the physical confrontation, Jaxson Hayes was arrested and treated for minor injuries before posting a $25,000 bond.
