West Virginia Governor Jim Justice is not afraid of making waves in the political arena. He jumped ship from the Democratic Party to the GOP back in 2017, in order to support Donald Trump and he has been a thorn in the side of President Joe Biden ever since his stint in the oval office began one year ago.

Last night, in an unorthodox attempt to stand up for Sen. Joe Manchin, who had received a fair amount of criticism for impeding progress on the "Build Back Better" bill, the 70-year old set his sights on one critic in particular -- Bette Midler. The 76-year old Hollywood actress who had condemned Sen. Joe Machin for his role in derailing "Build Back Better" on Twitter back in December of last year. In a tweet, Midler also referred to the residents of West Virginia as "poor, illiterate and strung out."

As he neared the end of his State of the State speech at the house of chambers, Governor Jim Justice responded to Bette Midler and the rest of political rivals by flashing his dog's rear-end and instructed his critics what to do with it.

"Absolutely too many people doubted us. They never believed in West Virginia...They told every bad joke in the world about us," Justice said. "Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there: Kiss her heinie."

The surprising act prompted scattered laughter and murmur throughout the house of chambers. Bette Midler responded to the gesture on Friday by tweeting, "Here we can see a dog’s a**hole. Right next to it is the butt of Jim Justice's dog. Here are the state rankings of all the areas and agencies for which the so-called 'governor' of West Virginia, Jim Justice, is responsible. Judging from these rankings, I'd say his dog's a** would make a better governor than him!"
