VladTV's very own DJ Vlad recently sat down with Math Hoffa, where he spoke about his love for hip-hop, and the events leading up to him starting VladTV.

Vlad started out explaining that he has been a fan of hip-hop since childhood, which led to him excelling in breakdancing. While going to college at UC Berkeley, DJ Vlad detailed how he got more into hip-hop, as he was surrounded by artists in the city, and he found another love when he started DJ'ing.

Through his love of DJ'ing, Vlad moved to New York to start working at a friend's club, and he spoke about the hardships that he went through, including DJ'ing at a dying strip club. It was while he was in New York that Vlad linked up with Dirty Harry and released the Biggie and 2Pac Rap Phenomenon mixtapes. It was at this point that Vlad admitted that the money was decent, but he was getting hesitant about staying in the mixtape game after other DJs were getting raided.

From there, DJ Vlad spoke about putting out documentaries, but when YouTube came along, he saw the potential in the platform. To hear more, including Vlad speaking about starting VladTV, hit the full interview above.
