Rico Recklezz claimed in October 2021 that he would be released from jail early after being sentenced to three years earlier that year for a gun charge. About three years earlier, the Chicago rapper spoke on Ewol Samo, who was sentenced to 12 years for possessing a weapon as a felon. Despite the combined 15-year sentence for both rappers, Ewol Samo and Rico Recklezz have been released from behind bars.

On Friday, Rico Recklezz created a brief post on his Instagram Story revealing he was a free man. Earlier this week, Ewol Samo -- who appears to have been released last month -- posted a photo of himself and Rico Recklezz. In the caption, the rapper congratulated his friend and rap peer for being released.

"Yall may never understand what it really took," Samo wrote. "But that’s ok tho. Just know a lot of dedication & perseverance was put into this. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. The bond that me & cuz share is unshakable. For whoever counted Recklezz Renegade out, they need to get a mfing calculator. It’s always been me & @ricorecklezz075 against the [world] And it’s still the same, just wit a bigger [bag] now. LOYALTY IS LOYALTY!"

Rico Recklezz commented on the post and wrote, "Prayed many nights 4 u 2 b bak wit yo Kids."

Ewol Samo was sentenced to 12 years in 2017, while Rico Recklezz was sentenced to three years in 2021. It is currently unclear how both. It's currently unclear how both rappers gained their freedom but stay tuned as more details become available.
