Richard Jefferson "ether'd" former college teammate Gilbert Arenas on TikTok Monday in response to Arenas scoffing at Jefferson getting drafted over him.
During a podcast appearance, Arenas recalled Jefferson getting drafted in the first round of the draft while he fell the second round. Agent Zero questioned the draft order and highlighted that he was the best player on their college team and Jefferson was a third or fourth option.
Jefferson was happy to explain why Arenas fell in the draft and provided receipts of his former teammate's shortcomings. The current ESPN analyst claimed Arenas fell in the draft because he was generally an "immature a**hole."
"Let's talk about when Gilbert went from first round to second round," Jefferson started. "It wasn't because of his talent because that man is a bad man and I will get on any app and talk about how bad of a man he was. But, Gilbert was an immature a**hole. That's just who he was, we all are little d***heads, I get it. But what Gilbert did was a little more special."
Jefferson claimed Arenas refused to do a mandatory stress test during pre-draft because he didn't want to mess up his Chuck Taylor sneakers. The former NBA champion also mentioned briefly that Arenas had issues with guns in college, so NBA teams were already aware of red flags involving the former Wizard. Later in the video clip, Jefferson said Arenas was chastised during another pre-draft event for saying his goal was to be an international pimp.
"All of these things are the reason why Gilbert just keeps dropping because he's an idiot," Jefferson continued. "So, the fact that his brain still doesn't process why he dropped down just lets you know who Gilbert is. And I love my guy, but he's a little bit special."
Jefferson ended his video response by bringing up his former teammate's poor performance in their NCAA title game before alluding to unknown activities Arenas was involved in the night prior. Arenas and Jefferson were teammates on the Arizona Wildcats, where they lost in the 2001 NCAA championship game against the Duke Blue Devils.
