A three-year-old boy accidentally shot his mother to death on Saturday in a Food 4 Less parking lot. According to reports, the child found a gun in his family's vehicle and began to play with it before the weapon discharged and a bullet hit his mother.

The incident took place in Chicago, a place that is notorious for homicides by firearm despite the fact that openly carrying guns in a car is prohibited without a license. The victim, Dejah Bennett, was pronounced dead after being taken to the Chicago University Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the neck; she was only 22-years-old.

While no charges have been filed as of yet, the shooter's father has been apprehended for questioning because he indicated that the gun belonged to him.
