Conway The Machine recently sat down with The Breakfast Club, where he opened up more about his contract with Griselda Records.
Around the 40:28 mark, Conway admits that he didn't read the contract, stating, "When we did that shit in the beginning, I really wasn’t all the way… I’mma keep it a buck. I didn’t even read that contract, bro. I didn’t read that sh*t—I just signed that sh*t and moved on. Unfortunately, the contract wasn’t in my favor. So now, going forward, it’s time to redo all that. I gotta make sure it’s in my favor now."
Conway went on to assure that there was no bad blood, as he stated that he'd "wave the Griselda flag regardless because… I was hands-on with that. Me and [Westside Gunn]. We can figure something out, which I’m sure we will."
Charlamagne got to the root of the question and asked if money was the factor in signing the contract without looking at it, and Conway stated, "I didn’t get no money." Conway then stated that the money he got from his three contracts with Shady Records, Interscope, and Griselda amounted to "pocket change." Charlamagne then asked, "Everybody ate but you?" Conway stated, “Pretty much."
