Update 03/19/2022 3:34pm:

Damon Dash and Jay-Z have been wrapped up in a lawsuit surrounding Jay-Z’s coveted ‘Reasonable Doubt’ album. Lawyers for Jay-Z went on to say both parties were “conferring to determine they can reach a settlement agreement that would resolve this case.” However, Dash took to Instagram to say this was not true, and said that “court is corny.” Now, Dash has spoken on the lawsuit once again, Via Instagram.

Dash posted a video that said, “Damon Dash can sell his 3rd of Roc-A-Fella Inc. anytime he wants to.” From there, he posted the caption: “Like I said, I don’t have to ask to sell what I own. #AskTheJudge #StayTuned @dashnftgallery and let’s be clear, it’s #jayz and @biggsburke that are suing me…”

The Roc-A-Fella Records owner went on to say, “My offer still stands, let’s get in a room like the old days and sit and talk like men. I don’t need a lawyer to talk for me.. I can’t believe this shit, I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.” Take a look above.

Previously, news surfaced noting that Damon Dash and Jay-Z were discussing a settlement for the lawsuit over Dash allegedly trying to sell Jay-Z’s ‘Reasonable Doubt’ album. Court documents obtained by AllHipHop found Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro saying both parties were “conferring to determine they can reach a settlement agreement that would resolve this case. However, Dash took to Instagram to say he is nowhere near settling in the case.

“Please don’t believe this hype. We are nowhere near a settlement.. they accused me of doing something I did not do, and now they have to prove it,” said Dash via Instagram. He continued saying, “and I can sell my share anytime I want #askthejudge and #jayz and @biggsburke if you wanna settle this holla at me…we use to hustle together…court is corny…let’s talk like men for the culture… I dare y’all to respond #doitfortheculture.” Stay tuned for more updates.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Jay-Z's lawyer, Alex Spiro, informed a judge that Jay and Dame Dash are discussing a settlement involving a lawsuit over Dame allegedly trying to sell Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt album as an NFT.

Spiro stated in the paperwork, "The parties are in the process of meeting and conferring to determine whether they can reach an agreement that would obviate the need for [Roc-A-Fella Records, Inc.] to file the motion [for a permanent injunction]. And the parties are also in the process of meeting and conferring to determine whether they can reach a settlement agreement that would resolve this case."

After spiro noted that the letter was released with Dame Dash and GoDigitalRecords LLC.'s approval, he added, "Plaintiff Roc-A-Fella Records, Inc. intends to file a post-discovery motion for summary judgment seeking entry of a permanent injunction preventing defendant Damon Dash from altering in any way, selling, assigning, pledging, encumbering, contracting with regard to, or in any way disposing of any property interest in the album Reasonable Doubt, including its copyright and including through any means, such as auctioning a non-fungible token (NFT) reflecting, referring, or directing such interest."

Last year, Dame Dash addressed claims that he was trying to sell Reasonable Doubt as an NFT, as he claimed that he was selling it as his 1/3 shares in Roc-A-Fella. Amid the ongoing lawsuit, Jay-Z thanked Dame during his acceptance speech at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in October.

This led to Dame calling Jay's speech "beautiful" and adding, "I’m glad he said it for the culture. We need to squash everything. So hopefully if that was an extended [olive branch], I’ll spin one back."
