After being tapped by Limp Bizkit as the opening act for their upcoming "Still Sucks" tour, an up-and-coming rapper by the name of $not now finds himself in the middle of a beef between two rock bands from the 90's about the usage of his stage name. When news broke that $not would be joining Limp Bizkit on tour, the move immediately drew criticism from the lead guitarist of a Nu Metal band with the same namesake.

In a recent interview with Blabbermouth, Mikey Doling of the rock band SNOT released a scathing soliloquy about the 24-year-old rapper using a name that his band made famous nearly three decades ago. The disdain was also aimed at Fred Durst and the other members of Limp Bizkit for supporting a hip-hop act who dared to step into their arena with a rock name.

"Mikey Doling here from the real SNOT," said the Nu-Metal guitarist. "I'm making this video because there is a young rapper kid out there calling himself $NOT. I heard about him about a year and a half ago. [I] didn't think nothing of it because he was in the hip-hop world, rapper — different worlds altogether. Well, now he has stepped into our lane, and I need to address it."

The rock veteran later added, "Limp Bizkit just posted [dates for] a new tour, and they are taking this rapper kid named $not on tour with them. And I wanted to say to [Limp Bizkit frontman] Fred Durst, if you see this video, how dare you, man? You were friends with SNOT. SNOT loved you, man. You came onstage with us and performed. Lynn [Strait, the deceased frontman of SNOT] went on stage with you in Boston. And you know the incident I’m talking about. We were friends. We shared drinks, stage, music [and] all that, and all these years later you take an artist named $not on tour with you? What the f**k is that, man? Bulls**t...So, yeah. I had to address it. That’s my two cents. And to that fake $not kid — [extends middle finger] right there, brother. There’s only one f**king Snot. Get some."

The video had been deleted by the time $not learned of Doling's harsh words on Twitter. In response, the "GOSHA" rapper wrote, "This actually ridiculous. Old man mad about my name."

There is no word on whether or not a lawsuit is forthcoming in regards to the usage of "Snot" as a stage name. For more on this story, keep it locked.
