Update 03/23/2022 12:24pm:

Latto's interview with Big Boy went viral after she revealed that an unnamed rapper gave her a hard time about clearing a feature for her upcoming 777 album because she previously curved him in her DMs. Kodak Black even addressed the situation and denied rumors that he's the rapper in question.

She explained, "Imma just keep it 100. It’s a feature on my album that it was difficult to clear, and they like, tryna… Drop they nuts on me because I won’t respond to a DM." She added, "Just because I love the song so much, and I had to turn it in yesterday, so I didn’t really have a choice. I was like backed into a corner, like bullied."

After the clip started a conversation online about the treatment of female artists in hip-hop, Latto spoke to The Breakfast Club about the aftermath, and she admitted that she wishes that she had never said anything. Latto stated, "My intention was not to make this a whole thing." I just was looking at it as, like, I'm a new female rapper in the game, I wish somebody could have given me some insight about how this stuff really goes. You hear female rappers have it harder but I really wanted to give a little insight as to what specifically makes it harder for female rappers. I didn't want it to distract from the music or anything so I kind of wish, in a way, I didn't say that."

Latto went on to say, "I haven't heard from them. I'm not here to raise nobody... I'm just speaking on what I go through and I think I'm allowed to do that to a certain extent. Social media is trying to turn it into this thing where it's like, oh, I'm trying to clout-chase or [they're trying to] silence my experiences. It's hard to know when you should and shouldn't speak up."

Latto has been getting herself prepared for the release of her ’777’ album and recently has been doing press to speak on the project. While talking to Big Boy, the rapper noted the difficulties she’s faced along the way, specifically referencing men in the music industry.

“I’m clearing my album right now, and it’s been difficult to deal with these men,” said Latto to Big Boy. She continued saying, “They don’t know how to keep it business.”

Latto was asked to explain what she meant, as it was clear she was referring to a specific person. The rapper continued saying, “I don’t care, baby, Imma just keep it 100. It’s a feature on my album that it was difficult to clear, and they like, tryna… Drop they nuts on me because I won’t respond to a DM.” Latto’s response caused Big Boy to say “really,” with Big Boy asking if the artist would still be on the album. “Just because I love the song so much, and I had to turn it in yesterday, so I didn’t really have a choice. I was like backed into a corner, like bullied,” said the rapper. Take a look above.
