While Benny the Butcher and Freddie Gibbs collaborated on songs in the past, it was rumored that there was tension between the two rappers in recent years.
Rumors heated back up after Benny's interview with Spotify, where he was asked about possibly working with Gibbs in the future. Benny responded, stating, "[Working with Freddie Gibbs] came and went, to be honest with you. It's all love."
Freddie responded by sharing a post of the quote on Twitter, writing, ""Came and went lol." He later clarified his statement in a video posted to his Instagram Stories, where Freddie stated, "N***as said working with Freddie Gibbs came and went. I know some other sh*t that came and went, too, n***a... Just keep my name out y'all mouth when you talkin' to people who doin' interviews and sh*t. Just say, 'next question, man. I don't want to talk about that n***a, man.' Just say next mothaf**kin' question, for real."
