According to reports, the libel lawsuit against Cardi B and her sister Hennessy Carolina by MAGA supporters in New York was dismissed by a judge. 

Although she wasn’t present for the actual incident, Cardi B was sued after the rapper’s sister had a run-in with a man sporting Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan on a hat while on the beach at the Hamptons. The incident found Hennessy filming an argument with the man and woman over where they parked. The three people involved in the incident claim Hennessy spit on one of them and that Hennessy called them “racist,” which is what they sued for. 

Cardi was drawn into the suit after posting a video of the incident, saying her sister and friends were being targeted because of their race and sexuality. The three people at the beach went on to sue for battery, assault, and defamation. Despite their move, the judge dismissed the case, saying all the words exchanged were general insults that aren’t on the level of libel. The battery and assault claims were also denied, with the judge saying there’s no proof that Hennessy intended to spit on the plaintiffs.

Previously, it was revealed that Cardi B and her sister Hennessy had a lawsuit filed against them for defamation by Peter and Pauline Caliendo and Manuel Alarcon. The suit stems from an incident on the beach with Hennessy Carolina and her partner, who say the three individuals were harassing them.

Hennessy recorded the back and forth between her and the three individuals, and she and her sister put the couple on blast via social media, calling them “racist MAGA supporters.” Because of that, the couple filed a defamation suit.

Now, Cardi and Hennessy have reportedly filed a motion to get the suit dropped. According to reports, Hennessy and Cardi claim the couple and the other individual are only looking to seek a “windfall” from them because they are celebrities. It was also noted that in court documents, Cardi and Hennessy said, “the remedy for thin skin is thicker skin, not a lawsuit." Stay tuned for more updates.
