Shortly after slapping Chris Rock for making jokes about his wife, Will Smith took the stage to accept his award for Best Actor.  While on stage, Will apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees for his actions as tears streamed down his face.  This was Will Smith's first Oscar win.  Will Smith's speech did not include an apology to Chris Rock.
