The aftermath of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock almost reportedly caused Smith to be dropped by his talent agency. However, it was noted that the Creative Artists Agency chose to stand by the actor at this time.
Reports noted there was a clash between heads of the company, Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane, and Richard Lovett. The agency leaders were at a CAA leadership retreat in Rancho Palos Verdes when the back-and-forth went down. According to sources that spoke to the Daily Beast, Lovett supported Smith the most, as he represents the actor.
The CAA reportedly decided to stick with Smith and issued a statement following the reports. A spokesperson for CAA went on to say, “There is no truth to any of it. Simply never happened.” Stay tuned for more updates.
