Kirk Franklin's son, Kerrion Rashad Franklin was apprehended yesterday after being pulled over by the Beverly Hills Police. Upon the routine traffic stop, the cops discovered that the 33-year-old actor currently had criminal charges in the state of Texas and a gun in his possession. This led to his arrest followed by his booking into the Los Angeles County jail nearly three hours later.

In a recent broadcast by Larry Reid Live, the podcast host claimed that he spoke to the Bad Boys: Los Angeles star from jail who had alleged that he was “wrongfully arrested and stopped because of his tail light.” Larry Reid also reported that Kerrion got into an altercation with the police officers that stopped him, which ultimately led to a resisting arrest charge as well.

"Kerrion told me on the phone that they're trying to slap two other charges on him just because and that the charges were not true," Reid said. "So, Kerrion is saying he did not resist arrest and that there was no gun that they found that was his. So, I'm assuming that he's alleging that the gun was planted."

Reid went on to say that Kerrion may be expedited back to his native state of Texas sometime soon. As of now, the actor will not be released from the Los Angeles County jail until his next hearing, which is scheduled for tomorrow. In the meantime, he is being held without the option of bail.
