According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, an Atlanta-based rapper known as Cash Out is facing several charges including rape, sex trafficking, and luring women into prostitution. Cash Out (aka John Michael Hakeem Gibson), reportedly used the allure of his fame and a company that he started with his four brothers (Pyrez Music Group LLC) to recruit young women for a litany of acts including commercial sexual activity.
The indictment involving this case states that the victims were promised power, benefits, and upward mobility within the company if they complied with the sexually explicit work environment that the Gibson brothers created at their workplace. To make matter worse, the Fulton County deputy district attorney, Earnell Winfrey, has indicated that Cash Out used his stature as a celebrity to pressure the victims into a life of prostitution as well.
“We’ve rescued two [sex workers] so far,” Winfrey said. “Some of these women are our most vulnerable women and he lured them in, let them believe that he cared about them and that he would take care of them, only to flip the script and then began to pimp them out.”
Cash Out is said to have been the mastermind behind the organization in question. He now faces 13 counts which include racketeering, human trafficking, rape, and aggravated sodomy. Therefore, the 31-year-old rapper is the primary focus of the 41-count indictment that was handed down in late March. Nevertheless, Cash Out and his four brothers aren't the only assailants linked to this case. Other defendants listed on the indictment are Linda Smith AKA Morenika Vinie/Mama Cash Out, Kierra Danieele Adams AKA "Boots," Tyrone Orlando Taylor AKA "Rooskie," and Demetrius Lamont Edwards AKA "Drama."
