Faizon spoke specifically about how detrimental the drug lord persona has been to the point that contemporary rappers believe they need to have a drug-dealing past and a record of violence to gain any respect. He pointed out how iconic rappers such as 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and Eazy E never promoted drug dealing in their music.
