Eleven days after the untimely death of Dwayne Haskins, audio from the 911 call that was placed moments before his death has surfaced.

Apparently, the wife of the former Ohio State standout had an inclination that something had gone terribly wrong when he stopped responding to her (via phone/text), in wake of being stranded on a highway near Broward County, Florida with no fuel. Kalabrya Haskins made the decision to dial 9-1-1 approximately ten minutes after she heard from her husband for the last time. When she spoke to the emergency dispatcher in the early hours of April 9th, she explained that her husband left his vehicle on the side of the road in search of fuel and that she just wanted to confirm his safety.

"He said he was going to call me back after he finished putting the gas in," Kalabrya said. "I kept calling and kept calling...He wasn't answering. Eventually, after 10 minutes of calling the phone, eventually it cut off. It's not working now. I had his location. I just want somebody to go in the area and see if his car is there and if he's OK and if anything happened to him."

In this case, a wife's intuition was spot on as something had gone terribly wrong. But what Kalabrya did not foresee was the nightmarish outcome that the dispatcher was about to present to her.

"I don't want you to panic, but I'm going to be honest with you," the emergency dispatcher replied. "We do have an incident on the highway, but I can't confirm if that's your husband or not."

Moments later it was confirmed that Dwayne Haskins Jr. was involved in the aforementioned accident, where he lost his life. The Pittsburgh Steeler's quarterback was just 24-years old.
