Update 04/21/2022 3:37pm:

Pooh Shiesty's highly-publicized case has been an emotional roller coaster for the hip-hop community. The Memphis rapper's involvement in the shooting of two men has certainly increased the demand for his music but it almost resulted in a life sentence in prison as well.

Luckily for him, the two victims survived the gunfire. So instead of facing a murder charge, he was sentenced to more than five years behind bars for a conspiracy involving firearms, after pleading guilty. One day after learning his fate, the 22-year-old emcee sent out a heartfelt message to his supporters from jail thanking them for their support and teasing new music, while also acknowledging how fortunate he is not to be serving out a life sentence.

"THE BIGGEST...I JUST WANNA THANK ALL MY LOVE ONES, SUPPORTERS, AND FANS FOR HOLDING ME DOWN DURING THESE HARD TIMES," Pooh Shiesty wrote. "I WISH I COULD BE COMINGG HOME TO YALL TODAY BUT THIS COULDVE BEEN WAYYYY WORSE, I WILL BE BACK SOONER THAN YALL THINK! BUT MEANTIME NEW MUSIC DROPPING NEXT WEEK, BLRRRD!!!"

Multiple reports confirm rapper Pooh Shiesty has been sentenced to over five years in prison for a federal firearms conspiracy charge that he pleaded guilty to earlier this year.

Pooh Shiesty's case stemmed from an incident in Florida, where he was accused of shooting a 28-year-old in the buttocks while attempting to purchase marijuana and sneakers. Following his guilty plea in January 2022, prosecutors agreed to drop three other charges the rapper was facing, which could have resulted in a life sentence in prison. However, the rising rap artist was facing a maximum eight-year sentence before the judge gave him a 63-month sentence.
