Benzino has been involved in a back-and-forth spat with trans actor Shauna Brooks, after allegations surfaced saying the two were romantically involved. The rapper threatened legal action against Brooks and even shared alleged DM exchanges with Shauna Brooks, where he told Brooks to stop engaging in the narrative floating online about him. Now, Benzino has given his thoughts on trans women during an interview with Kandi Burress.
While on Kandi’s ‘Speak On It’ show, Benzino and Kandi discussed many topics, including the recent rumors. Benzino noted how he came into contact with Brooks and explained Shauna asked for his number, calling him to rent out a location for an event. Benzino says it was their first conversation and his first-ever conversation with a trans person.
Kandi retorted, “that you know of,” which didn’t go well with Benzino. The rapper replied by saying, “It's not about having a label on they shirt, but if they gonna mess with straight people, then yes, they need to let people know that they're [trans].” Benzino didn’t stop there, saying, “If you're a trans woman in society, it is your responsibility to let everybody know that you're a trans woman. It's up to them if they still want to mess around with you.” Take a look above.
