Detroit rapper 42 Dugg is facing more legal issues as the music artist was recently arrested for failure to surrender himself to the authorities and serve a six-month prison sentence. The arrest reportedly stems from a criminal case during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
42 Dugg was arrested in Detroit as his flight landed from Memphis. The recent arrest is the latest addition to a string of legal issues that have plagued the rapper in recent years. 42 Dugg was arrested in March 2020 on federal gun charges for possessing a gun as a felon. Later that year, he was apprehended in August 2020 for evading police officers two months prior.
VladTV reported in May 2021 that the rapper was in plea negotiations for the gun charge, which carries a maximum 10-year sentence. While 42 Dugg took a plea deal and was able to avoid jail time in November 2021, the judge in the case revoked his probation and gave him a six-month jail sentence followed by two years of supervised release in February
42 Dugg was supposed to surrender and report to a West Virginia prison on April 12th but never did. The rapper is reportedly facing up to five years in prison for this latest infraction.
