Austin St. John (aka Jason Lawrence Geiger), the actor who famously portrayed the original Red Power Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series (from 1993 to 1995), was arrested on Thursday morning for COVID-related wire fraud after his home in McKinney, Texas was raided by FBI agents.
The massive investigation came on the heels of a federal indictment from the Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney's office after it was believed that St. John took part in an elaborate scheme to manipulate the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program and garner millions of dollars in the process. The indictment included 18 defendants with St. John being accused of getting 16 loans, which totaled $3.5 million.
St. John has yet to respond to the allegations, publicly, but if he is convicted of the aforementioned crimes he could face up to 20 years in prison.
