A high-speed police chase that started in the San Diego area ended in dramatic fashion after the man accused of assaulting a police officer was apprehended by the California Highway Patrol in Orange County. He was driving a stolen white sedan on the 5 freeway in Anaheim before authorities finally managed to slow him down with a spike strip near the Beach Boulevard exit.

However, the suspect did not go down without a fight. Once the stolen car was no longer driveable, he hopped out on foot and a standoff with the CHP ensued. It lasted for several minutes, prompting the officers on the scene to fire pepper bullets at the suspect. When that didn't work, they unleashed their K-9, which sprang into action causing the suspect to jump on top of the hood of the car. Moments later about six officers closed in on the suspect, took him to down to the ground, and placed him under arrest.

The entire ordeal was captured on camera. More details are coming, scroll up to watch.
