The way in which Debra Antney and her younger brother James Bimmy Antney turned their lives around from the drug game to the rap game has undoubtedly paved the way for her son, Waka Flocka, to make career choices that she simply couldn't afford to make at his age -- choices such as dedicating a substantial amount of free time to philanthropy, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention.
The 36-year-old rapper has thrived in these respective areas for years now. Today, all of the hard work and sacrifices culminated in him receiving an honorary professor degree in Humanitarianism and Philanthropy from the Bible Institute of America. The award ceremony took place at the Rainbow Push Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. The "Hard in Da Paint" rapper was honored alongside Reverend Jesse Jackson.
