Update 06/07/2022 11:17am:

Previously, reports surfaced noting an 18-year-old named Quartavius Mender was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill a Fulton County Sheriff over the arrest of Young Thug, Gunna, and other YSL affiliates. Now, the mother of the suspect says he has mental illness and isn’t involved in any type of gang activity.

While speaking to 11Alive from jail about the social media threats, Mender denied being the person who made those threats and also refuted allegations of being in a gang. It was noted Mender’s cousin was one of the people named in the YSL RICO indictment.

Mender’s mother—Malaika Kulenga spoke about her son, saying “My son is dealing with mental health, and also he’s grieving, you know. His brother was killed in September from a hit-and-run... My son is really a person that does need help.” Watch above.
