Lil Bibby is one of the most successful record executives in the rap game. His record label, Grade A Productions boasts the likes of The Kid Laroi and the late Juice WRLD. The Chicago native's proclivity for discovering untapped talent has proven to be quite lucrative but in the case of managing the music catalog of Juice WRLD, it has also become a daunting task to appease his dedicated fan base. Upon the release of Juice WRLD's second posthumous album (Fighting Demons), last year, Lil Bibby shared his thoughts on the difficulties of trying to shift through the endless supply of unfinished material by his late friend and his struggles to present Juice WRLD's vision in a light that does his work justice.
“This project took maybe eight to 12 months [to complete],” Bibby explained. “Juice has so many songs, so it takes a long time to just go through all of the songs. And then you’ve got to ride around to the songs, and make sure that you like them after the thousandth listening.”
The 27-year-old recently took to Twitter to open up about facing the demands that have been levied upon him by Juice WRLD's fans, while also addressing their insults about his management practices.
“Ppl say we don’t put out enough music but then they say we do it for money,” he wrote. “I will try my best, but I am human and I have feelings. This is not an easy job. Ppl making crazy allegations and saying hurtful things. I want to put out music because I know that’s what Juice wanted and I know the fans want it. But I sometimes want to quit.”
In addition to dealing with ongoing criticism and a litany of leaks (of unreleased music by Juice WRLD) from various sources, Lil Bibby must also work with Juice WRLD's mother, Carmella Wallace, upon the release of new material by the late rapper.
