A few after his defeat at the hands of Vincent Astrolabio, former boxing champion Guillermo Rigondeaux Ortiz experienced a frightening incident inside his Miami home when a pressure cooker blew up in his face. The explosion left the 41-year-old with badly burned corneas, which caused him to lose about 80 percent of his vision. The seven-time Cuban national champion also suffered burns to his face and chest. Rigondeaux recently took to Instagram to share a photo of his scarred face, with dried skin peeling off, signifying that he's finally on the mend after enduring a painful healing process. His photo was accompanied by an insightful caption.

“Every night when I close my eyes this is what I see. Sometimes it’s hard to forget."
