In this clip, James Cruz opened up to Shawn Prez about his early life and how he got into the music industry. James explained his journey from interning to landing his first full-time job at PolyGram Records. He also spoke about the importance of his Latin background and how he’s championed Puerto Rico in hip-hop spaces since the 1990s. During the conversation, James detailed how he went from being successful in the music industry to working with Reebok, which led to him being involved in the famous Entertainer's Basketball Classic at Rucker Park.
