Method Man recently appeared on Math Hoffa’s ‘My Expert Opinion’ podcast and spoke candidly about artists signing to record labels owned by other artists.
The Wu-Tang Clan legend noted that the artist’s career will always come second to the artist they’ve signed to, especially if the artist they signed to is still active in their career. “I always felt like you can’t sign to somebody who still trying to be an artist. Method Man and Math Hoffa noted some success stories, referencing artists like Drake and Lil Wayne. Meth pointed out the backing behind them, saying, “I mean these are people that I’m pretty sure have a staff.” Watch above.
