In June 2022, it was revealed that rapper Lil Tjay was shot. The rapper was taken to the hospital after he sustained near-fatal injuries and was unconscious for a bit. Since then, it was revealed that the alleged shooter of Tjay—Mohamed Konate, was arrested on Friday, July 22, in New Jersey and is currently being held at Rikers Island.
The alleged shooter was previously put in the hospital after he sustained gunshot wounds. Police believe the gunshot wounds stem from his attempted robbery of Lil Tjay. Konate is reportedly being charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder. Two associates present at the time of the shooting are being charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
