Two Dallas women have filed a lawsuit against Taco Bell in the wake of a horrific on-camera incident where an on-duty manager threw a large pot full of scolding hot boiling water directly in their faces.

The assault occurred on the 11800 block of Abrams Road, near Interstate 635, in northeastern Dallas back in June, when a Black woman named Brittany Davis and her niece 16-year-old niece C.T., reportedly entered the iconic fast food restaurant to request that the staff fix their order after having driven through Taco Bell's drive-thru area multiple times to have their order, a $31 purchase, corrected.

This prompted an argument between the two customers and the Taco Bell staff, during which time a male Taco Bell employee challenged C.T. to a fight. This escalated the verbal spat and prompted Brittany Davis and her niece to advance toward to kitchen area. From there, a manager that was not a part of the argument emerged from the kitchen with a large pot of boiling hot water before dumping it on the two disputants. The case has garnered national attention as it is now being handled by renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump and his associate Paul Grinke, who recently released surveillance footage (with no audio) of the shocking encounter.

In the aftermath of the attack, Brittany Davis and C.T. suffered first and second-degree burns on the upper half of their bodies as well as face-altering injuries and psychological damage. This legal matter is still ongoing.
