On Tuesday, a man by the name of Benjamin Greene and his love interest, Nazly Ortiz, were involved in a heated road rage incident that resulted in the latter drawing her firearm and shooting it off at the victim in the other automobile as he desperately attempted to swerve his car out of harm's way, with a baby in tow. This on-camera ordeal took place on Tuesday morning, during rush hour in Houston, Texas, on Interstate 45. According to reports, both vehicles involved were driving north before coming to a halt. At that point, Greene and Ortiz hopped out of their truck, made their way to the other vehicle, and assaulted the driver while his 2-year-old nephew was in the car with him. Things soon escalated as gunshots filled the air and the victim narrowly escaped with his life. In the end, the driver was grazed by a bullet, which caused minor injuries, and his infant nephew was hit with shattered glass caused by the bullets (no injuries were reported). A nearby car dealership was also damaged by the bevy of gunfire, but no people were hit.
Greene and Ortiz were both arrested shortly after the shooting. In the video, Greene could clearly be seen trying to restrain Ortiz as she fired multiple shots. Therefore, he was only charged with aggravated assault, but she was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They both appeared in court on Wednesday, Greene has since bonded out for $150,000, while Ortiz remains behind bars with her bail set at $300,000.
