Previously, JayDaYoungan’s grandfather spoke out following the fatal shooting of his grandson. Now, the rapper's father (who was shot as well) has spoken about the tragic shooting involving his son.
The rapper’s father, Kenyatta Scott, spoke on the shooting, saying he and his son were sitting in the front yard of their Louisiana home when a black truck pulled up, and three people jumped out with guns. Scott noted he and the rapper tried to run inside their home, but more men with guns popped out of the side of the house. From there, shots were fired, and Scott said he fired back at the men to defend him and Jay before being shot twice in the arm.
Scott said he believes the shooting stems from jealousy because his son made it out of Bogalusa. The rapper’s father said JayDaYoungan didn’t have beef with anyone and didn’t think the shooting was gang-related.
