Fidel Castro's Daughter Co-Signs James Franco Playing Her Father in Movie

Previously, news surfaced noting James Franco was cast as Fidel Castro in the upcoming movie ‘Alina of Cuba.’ Actor John Leguizamo took to social media to speak out over the casting, saying, “I don’t got a prob with Franco but he ain’t Latino!” Now, the daughter of Fidel Castro—Alina Fernandez, has co-signed Franco to play her father. 

While speaking to Deadline, Fernandez said, “I find the selection of the cast amazing,” and said she’s proud “the project is almost entirely Latino, both in front and behind the camera.” Fernandez gave a shoutout to Franco’s “skills and charisma,” and said Franco has an “obvious physical resemblance” with her father.
