If prosecutors and law enforcement officials in the state of Georgia have shown us one thing during their relentless pursuit of Young Thug and his YSL associates, it's that they have a very low tolerance for rappers who have had brushes with the legal system and it's very personal. When Slim Jxmmi (28) arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport from Canada, Customs and Border Patrol agents were there to greet him with a pair of handcuffs due to an outstanding warrant alleging that he obtained marijuana with the intent to sell it in Cobb Country.

Slim Jxmmi (aka Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown), who is one-half of the rap duo known as Rae Sremmurd, was taken to L.A. County jail, where he is currently being housed without bail. Upon learning of his arrest, it didn't take law enforcement officials in the state of Georgia long to ask the judge who presides over the legal matter to extradite the case to Georgia. The request has been granted, much to the dismay of Slim Jixmmi, who now faces up to 30 years in prison if he's convicted of drug charges brought against him.

Slim Jxmmi's defense attorney, Steve Sadow, shared his thoughts on the legal matter, claiming that his client was not recently arrested at LAX over a drug charge in the state of Georgia. Instead, the Atlanta-based attorney claims that it was simply a matter of miscommunication on the part of law enforcement officials that neglected to review their files thoroughly before taking action.

"Nearly two years ago, Aaquil entered a plea to a marijuana offense in Cobb County, Georgia," Sadow said. "He was placed on probation. In early June 2022, the mother of his child filed a untruthful complaint with the Cobb County Police Department, which led to an arrest warrant being issued...Aaquil was not arrested on that warrant. Instead, a Cobb County Magistrate Judge held a hearing on July 20, 2022 and dismissed the warrant. Unfortunately, the Cobb County Probation Office was not made aware that the arrest warrant was dismissed and thus failed to withdraw its probation violation warrant. When Aaquil came back from Canada into LA airport, he was arrested on the probation violation warrant. We expect that warrant to be withdrawn in the next day or so, and then Aaquil will be released.”
