A new indictment focusing on Young Thug and four others in the YSL RICO case brings about new charges for the Atlanta rapper.
According to WSB-TV, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' office revealed that the new indictment involves all 28 defendants from the May indictment. However, the new charges are against Young Thug and four other defendants, stemming from arrests on March 17 and May 9.
Young Thug is now facing a new gang charge, new drug charges, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a machine gun. Many of the charges stem from weapons and drugs seized by police at the rapper’s home in Buckhead, Atlanta during his arrest on May 9.
Two other defendants were involved in the machine gun count, including rapper Yak Gotti and Martinez Arnold. Jay Abt, an attorney for Yak Gotti, denied that the rapper is guilty of the charges, adding that he's looking forward to his day in court.
Defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant, who is representing Arnold, also commented, revealing that Arnold didn't live at Young Thug's residence where the weapon was found. Merchant told WSB-TV that she’s confident Arnold won’t be convicted of the original charges and he’ll be pleading not guilty to the new charges.
